When you start on this long gravel route, the path turns into an adrenaline-packed adventure, full of a stunning collection of iconic landscapes and challenges. You will tackle varied terrain, from tough climbs and technical skills to the thrill of fast downhill rides and the pleasant flow of easy slopes. Day 1 - Segment 1
Start Me Up
Distance: 0.95 km
Elevation gain: 122 M
AVG. grade: 12.9%
After a quiet start with some downhill action, it's time to truly awaken your heart and spirit. Just past the crossing of the Västerdalälven, a formidable ascent awaits. Brace yourself for conquering 122 vertical meters in a segment that's barely 1 km long, averaging a nearly 13% incline. It's wise to gear up with a light drivetrain or sturdy hiking boots for this challenge. At the summit, you'll be rewarded with a breathtaking panorama of the vast Sälenfjällen. Embrace the wild beauty as you reach atop this thrilling peak.

Beware of the Bear

After about 45 km, the wilderness starts to make its presence felt, and we found ourselves glancing over our shoulders for bears a few times during our test ride. The second segment offers the same amount of elevation gain as the first, but stretched over 5.5 km, making it what we like to call a delightful gentle climb. This stretch runs right along the edge of the stunning Fulufjället National Park and passes by Våtkölssätern. Immerse yourself in the untamed beauty, where the thrill of potential wildlife encounters adds an extra layer of excitement to our journey.

Next Exit Norway
Distance: 1.91 km
Elevation gain: 74 M

After crossing the border and riding out of the European Union, this segment takes you on an exciting climb to the Fulufjellets Alpine Center. You will ride along a beautiful forest road that leads you onto a wonderfully crafted flow trail. This trail gently winds its way up to a spot where you can grab some refreshments and enjoy a stunning view over the scenic Ljördalen and beyond. Here, in the middle of the peaceful nature, take a break after the segment to really take in the breathtaking beauty of the Scandinavian landscape.

Fly Fishing Freeway
Distance: 8.34 km
Elevation gain: 65 M
AVG. grade: 0.5%
We leave the rocky roads for a while and head into a longer, almost flat segment along the peaceful Drevja River. As you ride on this quiet but swift road, keep an eye out for people fly fishing in the river, skillfully casting their lines for salmon and sea trout. This segment offers a smooth and delightful journey, where the rhythm of the river add to the scenic charm. Enjoy!

Fageråsen Final Climb

The toughest segment of the route awaits after 110 kilometers. It kicks off on a stretch of smooth asphalt and transitions into a gritty gravel climb, winding up and beyond Fageråsen. As you pedal upwards, a charming mix of grassy rooftops, ski lifts, and cozy cabins unfolds around you, leading up to the summit at a breathtaking 918 meters above sea level. We are not kidding - this is a serious challenge, even for the most experienced, but reaching the top is a cause for celebration with the magical view that awaits. Get ready to conquer the final climb and enjoy the stunning panorama at the peak – it will be worth every second of screaming legs.

Fjellrunden 262 Edition
Distance: 6.56 km
Elevation gain: 97 M

Smile your way down on a magnificent mountain tour, or challenge yourself and your friends one last time for the day. This segment should be on every cyclist's bucket list. It circles the entire Trysilfjellet and is a well-prepared gravel road gem, including some simpler trails, boardwalks, and bridges. This is iconic.
